Frequently asked questions
Answers to common questions about EchoRadio.
How do I listen?
Press play on the player at the top of the site. It keeps running as you move between pages, so you can read the news or send a request without losing the stream.
Do I need an account?
Not to listen. An account is only needed for things tied to a person: song requests, notifications, your profile and your place on the community pages.
How do I request a song?
Go to Song requests, sign in, and send the track title and artist. Requests are reviewed before they reach the presenter, so anything abusive or repetitive will be turned down.
When is someone on air?
The timetable lists every show with its host and time. Outside those hours the stream continues with station music.
Can I become a presenter?
Yes. Open roles are posted as they come up under Vacancy news and listed on the vacancies page. You can also send a note through the contact page if nothing is listed right now.
How do likes work?
Liking a song adds to its total on the like leaderboard. It does not change what is played on air, but it tells us what is landing with listeners.
Where do notifications appear?
In the notifications page once you are signed in. The link sits in the navigation bar next to your account.
Is the stream free?
Yes. EchoRadio is free to listen to, with no subscription and no paywall on the site.
How do I report a problem?
Use the contact page and describe what happened, including the page you were on. If it is about your account, sign in first so we can find it.
